I have joined the aviation sector in 2012 as Muscat International Airport coming from Ministry of Civil Services after graduating from Indiana state university with a master of public administration.
Since I joined Oman Airports, I led along with my colleagues in that period a seamless grand opening of Salalah Airport in June 2015 then Muscat International Airport in March 2018 and Duqm Airport in January 2019.
In 2019 Omanairports was successful in adding 3 more airports to its airport portfolio to be managing In total 7 airports in Oman. Under my role, the new Muscat International Airport was awarded six World Travel Awards in 2018 and 2019, becoming World’s Leading Airport Operator 2019.
In 2018, Salalah International Airport was certified by Skytrax as the first 5-Star Regional Airport in the Middle East.
In September 2019, Muscat International Airport received the prestigious Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Award for being the most improved Airport in the Middle East based on passenger votes, resulting in Muscat Airport being ranked 14th globally in the respective airport size 15-25 million passenger. Another major success of my journey in the aviation sector is to becoming the first Omani elected in the impressive key role of Vice Chairman of the Airport Council International in 2019.
Finally and since my 1st day as the CEO of Oman Airports, I kept a strong focus on investing in Omani talent to develop the future leaders of the aviation sector in Oman, achieving a record breaking Omanisation rate of 98%.
Over the last twenty years and prior to joining Oman Airports, Aimen has held leadership positions within numerous multinational organizations. In addition to his current role at Oman Airports, he also holds executive positions as the Vice Chairman of Airport Council International (ACI) World Board and Secretary Treasury of the ACI Asia Pacific Regional Board, Omantel Telecommunication, Chairman of Oman National Investment and Engineering and Chairman of Oman Cargo Sats.
