Khaled Alhamash is a senior executive heading the role of EVP Operations at MATARAT, a holding company that owns all the commercial airports in the Kingdom and their operating companies. Khaled is also a board member at Jeddah Airports Company and Riyadh Airports Company.
Overall, Khaled oversees and ensures a seamless passenger journey for more than 100 Mn international and domestic passengers that travel through KSA airports every year.
Khaled’s involvement in the airport management sector covers a broad spectrum of responsibilities. He led the corporatization program that culminated in the transfer of 25 airports and their 1800+ employees from the General Authority of Civil Aviation to MATARAT. In the process, Khaled incorporated a new Operating Company, Cluster 2, to manage the transferred regional and domestic airports and led the company as CEO. He also worked on the operating model redesign between MATARAT Holding and its subsidiaries to implement best practices.
Now that the effect of the COVID pandemic is fading and, traffic has almost recovered to pre-pandemic levels, Khaled’s focus is shifting on uplifting service quality levels at all airports, ensuring adequate capacities to cater for increasing demand, boosting the use of digital channels to process passengers, and maximizing non-aeronautical and commercial revenues.
