Maurice Jenkins
Maurice Jenkins serves as Digital Strategy and Innovation Advisor/Chief Innovation Officer at Miami International Airport. He provides strategic direction for the Aviation Department’s information technology, telecommunications services, and application and end-user support services. He is responsible for defining and managing capital planning and investment management processes to ensure successful implementation of new innovations with the airport industry. This includes project integration within the defined airport objectives and within the departmental budget.
Mr. Jenkins’ strategic vision successfully culminated in the integration of new technology in the opening of the new South and North Terminals at Miami International Airport. In addition, with the successful implementation of new systems such as Propworks, PeopleSoft ERP, Biometric Exit and Automated Passport Control Kiosks, he conveyed his technical acumen and dedication to serve the people of Miami-Dade County and the travelling public. As an active member of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) and the Airports Council International (ACI), he fosters, supports, and promotes best in-practice initiatives which displays his commitment to providing the highest level of service governed by industry standards.
Mr. Jenkins graduated from the University of Miami with a bachelor’s degree in business and Computer Information Systems. He has earned certifications in Strategic Management from Florida International University and Human Resources Management from Nova Southeastern University. He takes pride in providing proven successful practices through presentations on implementation solutions to key IT leaders and during airport IT conferences in the U.S. and internationally. He is an active member of or immediate past member of the following organizations/committees; The American Association of Airport Executives’ Accelerator Program, Chairman of the IT sessions of the Passenger Terminal Expo and chairman of the 2018 Aviation Festival America – IT, Committee member of the International Air Transport Association’s Simplifying the Business (StB) Ideation, serves on the Société Internationale de Télécommunications Aéronautiques (SITA) Customer Advisory Board, Vice chair of ACI’s World Aviation Information Technology Steering Committee (WAITSC), member of the Future Travel Experience top 10 aviation IT innovator, advisory board member of Russell Publishing and a contributing writer of Airport Review Magazine, Chairman of the Business Information Technology Committee (BIT) established by Airports Council International (ACI) to set strategic objectives future technology direction for airports, and Chairman of the Florida Airports Council’s Information Technology committee.
